Land Area: 19 Square Miles
 
Beginning at West Marietta Street at the Western and Atlantic Railroad. Following the Western and Atlantic Railroad in a Southeasterly direction to North Avenue, then West to Gray Street, South on Gray Street to Western Avenue, then West on Western Avenue to Northside Drive, South on Northside Drive to McDaniel Street then Southeast on McDaniel Street to the Central of Georgia Railroad then Southwest to I-20 the West on I-20 to the City Limits, following the City Limits going North to the Southern Railroad to the Louisville and Nashville Railroad to West Marietta Street.

Major Valerie Dalton
Zone 1 Commander

Major V. S. Dalton has served the citizens of Atlanta since 1987. She was appointed to the rank of Major and assigned as Commander of Zone One in November of 2008.
Her career has been extensive in assignments throughout the Atlanta Police Department. She served in the Field Operations Division assigned to Zone One as the Assistant Zone Commander, Zone Two as a Field Sergeant, and Zone Five as a Field Sergeant and an Officer where she started her career. She served in the Criminal Investigations Division assigned as Unit Commander for Major Crimes (Auto Theft Task Force, Commercial Robbery, and Major Fraud), Unit Commander of the School Detectives Unit, and Narcotics as an Investigator. She served in the Support Service Division as the Commander of the Crime Analysis Unit. She also served in the Office of The Chief assigned to the Office of Professional Standards/Investigations and Advocacy.
 
Major Dalton has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration and dual degree in Criminal Justice, from Saint Leo University.
